Footprint Scanner™ uses your expenditures data to create an estimate of the footprint associated with all the products and services your organization uses. It:
- Shows you your total carbon Footprint and total Ecological Footprint
- Shows you the Footprint of your spending in different categories
- Shows you how much each link in your supply chain contributes to your Footprint
- Minimizes the cost and effort involved with assessing your Footprint, allowing you to move forward and start managing it
Your supply chain emissions count
Your organization’s total carbon Footprint consists of:
- Direct emissions from fuels you use and from your production processes
- Indirect emissions related to the production of the electricity you use
- Emissions in your supply chain related to your purchases of products and services
Your supply chain emissions may be significantly larger than your direct and indirect emissions combined. You need to know how large they are, what purchases they are related to, and whether you can play a role in reducing them, by changing your purchase patterns or by working with your vendors.
But tracking a supply chain’s impact can be a laborious and costly exercise, let alone tracking down the emissions related to all the goods and services an organization uses.
